Governor Meetings

The Governing Body meets at least once per term and has adopted a Committee Structure that comprises of the following – Finance and General Purposes; Audit; Strategic Planning and Quality; Search and Development; and Personnel.
The Governing Body’s role is strategic, and members do not involve themselves in the day-to-day management of the college. The Principal is the Chief Executive of the College and has delegated responsibilities as outlined in the College’s Articles of Association.

Who we are
Simon Wright - (Chair) Foundation Governor
Simon was appointed Chair of Governors in July 2008. He is also Chair of the Search and Development Committee and a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. Simon is Director of a Company specialising in HR and OD consultancy, Leadership and Management Development and Coaching.
Pam Linforth - Foundation Governor
Pam is a member of the Personnel and Finance, and General Purposes Committees. She is also the Governor Link for the Faculty of Business and Languages and a member of the College Finance Academy Local Advisory Board. Pam is a HR Director with local firm Ellisons and also a qualified lecturer.
Stuart Hall - Foundation Governor
Stuart is a member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee and Strategic Planning and Quality Committee. He is also the Governor Link for the faculties of Visual and Performing Arts, and Humanities. Stuart, a former pupil at the College, is a Town Planning Consultant and former Director of Environmental Services at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.
Andrew Chadaway - Foundation Governor
Andrew is Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Search and Development Committee. He is the Governor Link for the faculty of Mathematics, Computing and Functional Skills. Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and partner at regional practice Burgis and Bullock.
Richard Warne - Foundation Governor
Richard is a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee and Personnel Committee. He is the Governor Link for Learning Resources within College including the library and study centre. Richard is a qualified accountant and has recently retired from his post as Assistant Director for Finance and Procurement at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.
Steve Fiddy- Foundation Governor
Steve is a member of the Finance & General Purposes and Personnel Committees. He is also the designated Safeguarding Governor and the Governor Link for Student Support functions within College. Steve recently retired from the NHS where he worked for many years as a Psychiatric Nurse Manager.
Mick Jones - Foundation Governor
Mick is a member of the Audit Committee and Personnel Committee. He is also the Governor Link for Estates and Facilities. Mick is a former County Councillor and is involved with many local charitable organisations including the St John Ambulance.
Stuart Stanley – Foundation Governor
Stuart is a member of the following Committees – Audit and Strategic Planning and Quality. He is also the Governor Link for MIS. Stuart is an administrative officer at the University of Warwick.
Ian Strachan - Student Governor
Ian is a member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee. He is the male Chair of the College Forum and involved in a diverse range of activities throughout College to promote the learner voice.
Kate Phillips : Staff Governor
Kate teaches Earth Sciences and is the academic staff governor.
Jacqui Clements (Vice-Chair) - Foundation Governor
Jacqui was appointed Vice-Chair of Governors in October 2009. She is also Chair of the Personnel Committee, a member of the Search and Development Committee, the Governor Link for Personnel functions within College and a member of the College Finance Academy Local Advisory Board. Jacqui is Chief Executive of the Student’s Union at The University of Warwick and a former pupil at the College.
Beverley Hawkins - Foundation Governor
Beverley is Chair of the Strategic Planning and Quality Committee and also a member of the Audit and Search and Development Committees. She is the Governor Link for the faculty of Biology and Sport. Beverley, a former pupil at the College, also sits on the external SAR evaluation panel and is a qualified lecturer and distance learning assessor.
Michael Hall - Foundation Governor
Michael is Chair of the Finance & General Purposes Committee and a member of the Search and Development and Personnel Committees. He is also the Governor Link for Finance functions within College. Michael is a qualified solicitor and Immigration Judge.
Cllr Jim Foster - Foundation Governor.
Jim is a member of the Audit and Strategic Planning and Quality Committees. He is also the Governor Link for Physical Sciences. Jim is County Councillor for Galley Common and has over 35 years experience within the manufacturing sector.
Ella Talbot - Student Governor
Ella is a member of the Strategic Planning and Quality Committee. She is the female Chair of the College Forum and involved in a diverse range of activities throughout College to promote the learner voice.
Terri Hoggart - Staff Governor (Support)
Terri is a member of the following Committees – Audit and Strategic Planning and Quality. Her role within College is that of Science Technician.
Dr Esther Maughan - Principal
Esther is a member of all Committees with the exception of Audit. She has been Principal at the College since 2008. Prior to this she has held senior managerial and teaching posts within the FE sector including Stephenson College in Coalville and the City of Sunderland College.
Jacqui Twigger - Clerk to the Governors
Jacqui is Clerk to the Governing Body and its Committees. She has been employed at the College since 2005 and was previously Manager of Finance Post Graduate Programmes at Warwick Business School.
Lorna Jones – Parent Governor
Lorna is a member of the Personnel Committee. She is currently employed as a nurse at George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.
Qamar Khan - Parent Governor
Qamar is a member of the following Committees - Strategic Planning and Quality, and Audit. He brings a wealth of experience in governance and recently led a Peace and Unity conference with Warwickshire schools.
