What Our Parents Say About Us?
"This email is somewhat overdue but I would like to thank everyone at King Edward VI for making Arthur's experience so positive. He came to Nuneaton from Nottingham and didn't know any of the students he was going to 6th form with, which was a bit daunting. However, he was warmly welcomed by Louise, his Form Tutor, by teaching staff and by students alike. He has made a really good and supportive group of friends over the 2 years he was with you and I have no doubt that he will keep in touch with them.
Going to a specialist 6th form college allowed Arthur to take subjects that are not necessarily available in school 6th forms and an unusual combination of subjects too. He enjoyed all of the subjects he took and has had nothing but good things to say about his teachers. Special thanks to Simon in Drama and to John in Film Studies. Their interest in Arthur's achievement and enthusiasm for their subjects has contributed directly to Arthur being able to go to Bournemouth University to do Film Production and Cinematography, which was his first choice and the best place in the country to do this course from what I can tell.
Finally, a huge thank you to Paul Strange for the work he did with Arthur and the extensive report he produced for the University. As a result, Arthur has got some amazing equipment to support his studies there.
I cannot speak highly enough of our experience of KEC and would recommend it to anyone. It is a fantastic facility to have in Nuneaton (why would you go anywhere else?) and maybe Arthur will follow in Ken Loach's footsteps one day!"
"Thank you very much for the very good guidance, teaching and support you have all given. In particular everyone in the Art Department have excelled in their teaching, support, encouragement and advice in a friendly and understanding manner. From her A level work, but especially in the excellent Art Foundation coursework she has gained much, deserving her excellent result. Her future is exciting."
"Our son has just finished his three years of A Levels split between Exhall School and your college. I just want to put it in writing what a really excellent experience he has had at King Edward VI College. He has taken A Levels in Psychology,Philosophy,Maths and Further Maths and the level of teaching has been excellent at every stage and in every department. Your staff have taken the time to get to know and understand him and he has thoroughly enjoyed the experiences that have come his way. In addition the support and encouragement he, and i , have received from Academic Learning Support has been absolutley oustanding and undoubtedly contributed to the huge leaps in confidence and independence that he has made. The split placement between Exhall and King Edwards has been a very valubale stage in helping him make a transition from special school to mainstream and has given him the confidence to feel he can suceed at University. I could not be more pleased and grateful for the teaching experience and support he has had from your college - really brilliant at every level. A very big 'thankyou' to you and your staff." "We would recommend KEGS to anyone. The staff are so committed and passionate about their subjects, they have inspired and encouraged Kathryn to achieve standards of work she would never have believed possible. Several staff have gone out of their way to help or advise her, and assist her development into an independent learner, which will be invaluable when she begins her university studies at Cambridge. The warm welcome she received from students and staff on arriving as a student living outside the traditional catchment area was, and still is, an example to other higher education providers.” Lisa Parkins
"I would like to express my thanks for the positive feedback that my husband and I received at my daughters parent's evening tonight. She has had to resit her A Levels this year after a rather rocky year last year and with the support of her teachers this year in Biology, Sociology and Psychology she has made really good progress.
Please pass my thanks on to her teachers. As a teacher myself I am aware how important their support has been in encouraging her to do well and achieve her potential and I know how nice it is to receive parental gratitude.
Keep up the good work"
"My daughter has found college stimulating and the tutors helpful and enthusiastic which has inspired her"
"My son has enjoyed his time here. He has been encouraged to achieve his potential. The work has been challenging and interesting and the quality of teaching of a high standard. I am pleased that he had the opportunity to attend this college"
"My son has had an extremely good year and we are so pleased he chose KEC. The college has given him a positive focus on his education and he has been given the support in order for him to begin focusing on his future at University. Our experience of the teaching staff is excellent and they have ensured high standards of work at all times"
"An excellent experience and a good decision. The college provides a step between school and university lacking in other school sixth forms. Fantastic teaching and learning culture has helped towards obtaining the longed for place at university next year. Staff always provide excellent support to pupils and parents"
"I have been extremely pleased with all aspects of college. My daughter is happy and progressing well and has as much help as she needs in all her subjects
"Can you thank all the staff who have given so much to my daughter both whilst she was a student at KEGS but also in the last 2 years whilst she has tried to improve the grade she needed to change courses. The goodwill of all the staff involved in her education is a true testimony to how everyone tried so hard to help her. She has travelled up from Plymouth regularly to attend revision sessions and exams and this was paralleled by the high level of commitment from the teaching and support staff.
Many thanks for this endeavour.
Kindest regards"
Ian Brown (maths teacher...Hartshill school)
"Dear Dr Esther Maughan & Dedicated Staff
Thank you is totally inadequate expression and measure of my respect , admiration and gratitude for you and your staff. Your staff's commitment to ethic and passion for teaching has inspired more students than you will ever know.
I respect all the teachers at King Edward College because they take their career very seriously and this shines through their interactions with students and reflects on the exam results that is being achieved by the college.
A special thank you to Mr Ian Howard for being such a great teacher and mentor to Sabrina and for being there and pushing her to achieve her goals and not letting her give up. She sees him as a real role model, and we can see why. His approach is the perfect mix of firmness and understanding.
As the new term begins , I feel confident that Sabrina is ready to face the future in Year 12 - both socially and academically - Thanks largely to your effort.
We would highly recommend other students to study at your college if they are to do well in life.
Keep up your amazing work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I received the profile information yesterday and I am very pleased of course. It is very good news. Duncan is doing amazingly well with you all at King Edward's and I would like to thank you again for all your support"

"We were absolutely delighted that Alex achieved A* in the four A2s she sat this year. She was encouraged initially to take Further Maths by Simon Clay and his staff and was further encouraged to stick with it when she found the Further Pure Maths very challenging. She would not have taken this subject had she stayed at school. Alex thoroughly enjoyed her time at KEGS. We all think it is an ideal transition between school and University and regularly recommend KEGS to our friends and acquaintances with children choosing their sixth form education."
Ann Wright , Parent of Alex Batchelor
"A highlight of last year for us was seeing the King Edward Players perform Adam Bede in the historic setting of St Mary's Guildhall. We were so impressed with the standard of performance the young people achieved, after only a few weeks of rehearsals. Having the opportunity to take part in activities such as this, add another dimension to the academic excellence at KEGS."
